Teachers Companion ("the app") is made and published by THE BASE ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app.
You do not need to sign up or log in to use the app's core features.
Lesson plans, notes, exams, settings, your name and your school name (if you enter them) are saved only on your phone. We cannot see them. You can delete them in the app, by clearing the app's data, or by uninstalling the app.
When you use an AI feature (for example lesson plans, the AI assistant, the grammar checker, the sermon generator or the Maths Questions Solver), the text of your request — and a photo, only if you choose to send one — is sent securely over HTTPS to our server, which runs on Cloudflare (a Cloudflare Worker). Our server passes it to one of these AI providers to create the answer: Groq, Google Gemini, Cloudflare Workers AI or Mistral AI.
The app is free and may show ads. Ads are provided by Google AdMob or a similar advertising partner when enabled. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the advertising partner may collect and process information from your device, such as the advertising ID, device and app information, approximate location (from IP address), and ad interactions. This is handled under the partner's own privacy policy — for Google see policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Where required, you will be asked for consent, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
Optional paid features or in-app purchases may be offered in the future. Purchases are processed by Google Play under Google's terms; we do not receive or store your card or payment details. We only receive confirmation of what you bought so the app can unlock it.
The app uses the camera only when you choose to: to scan QR codes, to photograph a question for the Maths Questions Solver, or to capture a page for the document reader. QR scanning happens on your phone. Photos are only sent when you use an AI feature with them, as described above, and we do not save them.
The Holy Bible (Berean Standard Bible) and the curriculum content are built into the app and can be read offline; reading them sends nothing to us.
Like any internet service, our server briefly receives your IP address in order to deliver the answer and to limit abuse (rate limiting). It is not used to identify you and is not kept in a profile.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. AI requests are only passed to the AI providers named above so they can produce your answer; advertising data is handled by the advertising partner as described in the Advertising section.
The app is meant for teachers and other adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
